April Vian, Owner/Executive Director
April graduated from Purdue University Global in 2012 with a Master’s in Psychology and emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis. She have worked in the field of ABA for the last ten years, providing services in home, school, and clinic settings. She started at Eastside ABA as a BCBA in 2019 before stepping into the position of Executive Director in 2021. She enjoys working with a variety of ages and is particularly interested in working with older teens and adults. In the future she hopes to expand her knowledge to further help underserved populations. In her free time she enjoys volunteering with a kindness based non-profit, spending time with my husband and our three children, as well as reading, traveling, concerts, hiking, and camping.
Han Kim, BCBA
Han graduated from the University of Washngton with a communication major and continued his education at the University of Arison for his Masters in Special Education, to become a BCBA. He was initially drawn to this field because of his interest in behavioral therapy and how it changed the quality of life for many clients. He saw the impact he was making and could imagine another for himself that was as fulfilling and rewarding as this. His specific area of interest is treating client from 5-13 with severe aggression. He is a BCBA, licensed with the Department of Health and CPR-AED certified. Outside of work, he loves exploring outdoor activites such as camping, water sprots, and rock climbing with my fiancé and cat, who acts like a dog. His goal is to one day build his own clinic to continue to serve, educate, help, and guide those in need.
Judi VanDyck, BCBA
Judi is originally from Ghana, West Africa, but has lived in the Pacific NorthWest for over 23 years. She has a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. She also has an MBA with a concentration in Ecommerce. She previously worked as a program manager in the technology field, but switched careers to become a BCBA after she saw how much of a positive impact it had on her child who was diagnosed with Autism. She went back to school in 2017 to begin her training, and after graduating, joined Eastside ABA as a behavior technician, then as a licensed assistant behavior analyst, before finally passing her board exams recently and is now the clinic’s newest BCBA! She specializes in working with adolescents and young adults and is also passionate about working with minorities, especially those that are typically under-served.
Outside of work, she love gardening, traveling, creating art, barbecuing, and going shopping with her 3 daughters. Her ultimate goal is to provide awareness and educate populations outside the USA that do not have access to ABA.
Tamara Cave, Schedule Coordinator
Tamara did not always have a “behind the scenes” position at Eastside. She started out as a behavior technician over 5 years ago. She graduated from college with a BA in Psychology several years before that and knew she wanted to work with kids that needed a little extra help to thrive in their world. She really enjoyed her years as a technician and particularly loved working with the younger preschool age group. She transitioned to her current rol after having her first child . She now works from home taking care of all things scheduling while also raising her two beautiful daughters. Tamara has been married to her husband for 7 years and they love traveling, spending time their girls and eating good food. Tamara’s most important goal in life is to raise her children to be good humans.
Nathalie Fonte, B.S. (Biology), Certified Behavior Technician
Nathalie has 20 years of experience working with children with special needs. She began this rewarding work when her own children were in elementary school, when she was hired as a Special Education Paraeducator. Ten years ago, she joined the team at Eastside ABA. The clinical setting and her continued work in the public school system has been very rewarding and, in many ways, compliment each other. One of Nathalie’s greatest joys is discovering the unique set skills each child possesses and using those skills to help them reach their full potential. She believes every child has the right to self-advocacy, the ability to enjoy a happy life and be a contributing member of their family, home and community. In her free time, she enjoys walking around her neighborhood, long winding bike rides, and strong cup of tea.
Patrick Bertlein, CBT
Patrick has been A CBT with Eastside ABA since 2020 and was a paraeducator for two years prior to that. Patrick studied Liberal Arts at Evergreen and is currently pursuing his education to become a BCBA. Outside of work Patrick enjoys hiking, reading, and playing guitar. Patrick aspires to become a BCBA and continue to engage in creative endeavors including writing and making music.
Corynne Evans, CBT
I graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Science. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have always been drawn to working with children and my goal is to become a BCaBA by the end of 2022.
Jay Montemayor, CBT
Jay has been in the field for 3 years and has a Bachelors degree. Jay was drawn to the field because he is an empathetic person who enjoys helping individuals problem solve through emotionally difficult situations and gets personal fullfiment when they obtain that goal. Outside of work, Jay enjoys building PCs, hip hop dancing, cooking new dishes, jogging, and traveling.
Katarina Gunawan, CBT
Katarina is a CBT and has been in the field since 2019. She graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology degree from University of Washington. Katarina loves that she gets to help clients through challenging situations and watch them overcome it. She aspires to continue her education and become a LMHC or BCBA. Outside of work Katarina enjoys spending time with her two spoiled cats.
Hello! My name is Kena and I have been in this field of work for 6 beautiful years. Everyday I have the privilege to learn and grow not only along with my peers but most of all, our clients. Our Clients continuously teach me how to be in the moment, be grateful for every step-in life, and to laugh every single day. It is my main goal to take my ever-growing knowledge and raw passion and teach educators around the globe.
Kanwal is a Behavior Analyst living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She has been studying and working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis for 7 years and has worked with many individuals with developmental disabilities in that time. Kanwal has worked as a CBT, Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst in a variety of settings, including in home, clinical, and community settings. Kanwal has her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Communicative Sciences and Disorders and her Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University. Kanwal is passionate about developing, implementing and training staff on individualized and effective behavioral treatment programs for the clients that she serves. In her spare time, she enjoys a nice bonfire on the beach, exploring the mountains, playing tennis, and going on coffee dates with her husband.
Minji has been a CBT with Eastside ABA since 2017. She loves to sing and dance with her clients and is a professional at playing hide and seek and monster games. Since Applied Behavior Analysis has been her passion and huge part of her life, Minji decided to continue her professional growth and advance her competence in behavior analysis as a BCBA. Minji will start a BCBA program at the University of Washington in the fall of 2021. Minji’s ultimate goal is become an early intervention specialist after working as a BCBA with an M.Ed. degree for 5 years. In her spare time, Minji enjoys exploring the great outdoors and taking pictures with her three favorite cameras, a film camera, polaroid, and DSLR.
Alli has been working in the field of ABA for the past 3 years. She is currently in school working towards a degree in Psychology. Ally has always loved working with children and doing this work is her passion. She always learns something new from children she works with and finds it to be such a rewarding experience.
Doris was born and raised in Ghana. She has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Information Management Systems from Ghana. Outside of work, she enjoys making people feel and look beautiful through cosmetology. Doris loves making a difference in the lives of people feel and look beautiful through cosmetology as well as making a difference in the lives of people, especially children. The passion encourages her to persevere in this field, she looks forward to becoming a BCBA in the future to help more people
